On a brisk autumnal day in 2013, six UK-based designers congregated at Gawthorpe Hall in Pennine Lancashire to take inspiration from textiles in the Collection. I was so excited by Gawthorpe Textiles Collection and the opportunity to look through so many samples. I love that people have collected these knitting patterns and made them their own, and now I am able to make my own designs from them so that others can create their own pieces based on my patterns. Miss Rachel really understood the value of craft and the satisfaction of making things with your hands and I find it really inspiring that she collected and taught her textile craft skills to help people have a pride and self-belief in what they can create.
